Power Rangers Movie: No Cameo From Previous Cast

By on

The hope of seeing the original cast members of Power Rangers in the upcoming reboot seems to be over. This was after Walter Jones recently revealed that no invitation to star in the film has been sent to him. It appears like it was also the case for other original cast members of the 1990s television series.

It was a sad news for many fans. Many believe that the upcoming Power Rangers is a good chance to see the previous cast members reunited. They could at least have a cameo appearance. But it looks like this is not going to be the case.

According to Jones, no cameos are going to occur. Jones portrayed the role of Zack Taylor, who is also known as the Black Ranger. Aside from this disappointing confirmation from the actor, he also talked about his experiences in doing the series and the friendships they have built.

It?s arguably a sad thing to know that Jones won?t be seen in the upcoming film. But the actor said he is excited for the movie adaptation of Power Ranges.

Walter Jones Not Invited?

Jones admitted that he thinks it was unfortunate that he did not receive an invite to make a cameo appearance in the project. He said it was actually confusing for him. However, it looks like the actor still supports the film in any way he can.

In one of his most recent interviews, Jones has also talked about his bonding with the late Thuy Trang. Trang played the role of Trini Kwan, also known as the Yellow Ranger. Trang passed away after a tragic accident in 2001.

Other original Power Rangers cast members have not released their statement yet about the issue. These include Jason David Frank, Ashley Jo Johnson and Austin St. John.

Meanwhile, cast members for the Power Rangers movie reboot were already introduced. These include Bryan Cranston as Zordon, Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa, Ludi Lin as the Black Ranger, Naomi Scott as the Pink Ranger, RJ Cyler as the Blue Ranger, Becky G. as the Yellow Ranger and Dacre Montgomery as the Red Ranger.

The much awaited film is expected to hit the big screens on March 24, 2017.
