Poldark Season 2 has just finished production this March and is set to be released this September. Spoilers for the upcoming installment say that George Warleggan (Jack Farthing) is after Captain Ross Poldark?s (Aidan Turner) life and he will do everything to get rid of the remaining Poldarks.

George will continue to rally against Ross? family and will possibly go as far as putting them in danger, Hall of Fame Magazine reports. Meanwhile, Ross will be teaming up with his cousin Francis (Kyle Soller) in running the family business.

Turner, who is best known for his role as the charming dwarf, Kili, in The Hobbit trilogy and now for starring in BBC One?s period romance, teased about the upcoming season during the MCM Comic Con, Radio Times reports. He said that the story will pick up exactly where they left off last season.

?So it?s a time when Ross and Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) have just lost their child, his company is down the pan, they?re broke, and he?s been arrested,? Turner said. ?It looks like he?s going to prison.?

?It?s a cheery beginning!? he quips. ?And yeah, there?s so much story in it, and all the characters have massive arcs in the next series ? I think we?re 10 episodes next series.?

Turner then talked about the increased scale for the upcoming installment after the first season became a surprise hit last year.

?It?s gonna be huge this year,? Turner added. ?I mean, it was big the first year, but with all the support and the fanbase that we?ve accumulated? It?s gonna be amazing.?

It sure looks like fans will be in for an exciting Season 2 as lead star Turner promises. As the period romance has been a surprise hit, there are already speculations that a third season is already in the works, but BBC One hasn?t confirmed this yet. Let?s just see how Season 2 goes for Captain Ross Poldark and his family.
