Pokemon Sun and Moon

Pokemon Sun and Moon is coming to the 3DS on November 18, which is still a long time from now sadly. Though we got some new Pokemon from the most recent trailer, it looks like we might get another one coming soon, as Nintendo and Bandai Namco have announced that there will be a new playable character in the Wii U fighting game Pokken Tournament.

The arcade version of Pokken Tournament will be getting a new playable character on July 20, but the fighter will be revealed next week on July 14 via a livestream, according to Game Rant. Since there are more than 700 Pokemon now it would be easy to assume that it would be a more established character, but there is a good chance that it could be an entirely new creature as well.

No clues have been given so far, so it could go either way. The developers could probably add someone from the Red and Blue era to please the nostalgia crowd, but they could also introduce a new awesome creature that would help promote Pokemon Sun and Moon to potential buyers.

Who will the new character be?

Maybe the two games won?t need the extra publicity, since everyone goes crazy for new Pokemon games, but it definitely would not hurt. The developers could make the final evolved form of poor Popplio one of the best fighters in the game, since it has been rumored that the creature?s final evolved state will be a mix between water and fighting.

We could also see one of the new forms of Zygarde be the new playable character. This X and Y legendary will be making a comeback in Pokemon Sun and Moon, so what better way to hype the fans by adding the creature as a fighter in the arcade version of Pokken Tournament.

Fans will be able to speculate for a week, before the livestream comes out in July 14. Will we see a new Pokemon, or one of the hundreds that have already been made? Only Nintendo and Bandai Namco know the answer to that.

Pokemon Sun and Moon are slated for a November 18 release, with a special steelcase edition for each game coming.
