Fans of Pokemon Sun and Moon — as well as those playing the Ultra counterparts — have a lot to look forward to this 2018. Starting this February, players of Sun and Moon will be able to get their hands on some highly coveted Legendary Pokemon. What’s most interesting is that this special distribution even will continue to run for several months up to November.
Year-Long Distribution For Pokemon Sun and Moon
As The Official Pokemon YouTube Channel reveals, players of Sun and Moon will be given the opportunity to acquire Legendary Pokemon starting this February. Kickstarting the long giveaway are Dialga and Palkia. For February, players will be able to get their hands on either of these Pokemon from the Sinnoh region.
March entails the availability of Regigigas and Heatran. Meanwhile, April will feature Johto’s Raikou and Entei. The month of May will have Xerneas and Yveltal, while June will boast of the interesting Zygarde that previously made an appearance in the Alola region. July will have Tornadus and Thundurus of the Unova region, whereas August will make Groudon and Kyogre available.
The distribution does not stop there, as September will make Latios and Latias available as well. October will have Reshiram and Zekrom, and wrapping things up are the Legendary Ho-Oh and Lugia.
It’s worth noting, though, that players will only be able to receive one out of the two available Legendary Pokemon each month. Regardless, this special distribution event still comes as exciting news to fans. Catching Legendary Pokemon is no everyday feat, after all. Thus, receiving one Legendary a month makes for some promising prospects for Sun and Moon this year.
How to Obtain the Legendary Pokemon
Details on how the distribution event will operate have not been disclosed as of late. However, this isn’t Sun and Moon’s first distribution event. With this into account, many fans anticipate that the Pokemon giveaways will function similarly to previous distributions. Thus, it is likely that players will visit their local video game retailer in order to claim their Legendary Pokemon. That, or make use of a redeemable code supplied by Nintendo.
According to a leak from GameStop, the first distribution event will start on February 2 and will continue up to the end of the month. Specific dates for the remainder of the event have yet to be revealed.
Pokemon Sun and Moon, as well as Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, are available on the Nintendo 3DS.
