Pokemon GO augmented reality game was made available to Android and iOS platforms at the beginning of this month. Fresh information suggests that the Pokemon GO for Windows Phone will be releasing soon.
Pokemon GO is a highly popular game and is not available yet on any of the operating system platforms of Microsoft. An online petition filed by over 85,000 Windows users shows how eagerly they are waiting for the game to be available on Windows Phone versions like Windows 10 Mobile and Windows 8.1.
A Facebook user named Rafael Pinheiro asked the Redmond giant whether it has any plans to release the game on Windows. He threatened that he will discard his Windows phone if the company does not fulfill his request.
Likewise, Microsoft Portugal replied to its users on the social networking site that it has received numerous requests for the Pokemon GO game. Hence, it will be soon made available on Windows Store. However, it is evaluating options to meet the request in the best possible way.
As of this writing, Microsoft has not released any public statement on releasing Pokemon GO for Windows. Windows 10 for desktop has reached a market share of 30 percent. As far as Windows 10 Mobile is concerned, most Windows Phone users are still using Windows 8.1 as the new OS has a market share of 12 percent.
The market share of Windows 10 desktop is steadily increasing, but the Windows 10 Mobile is growing at a slower pace as many Windows 8.1 users have not upgrade to the new OS. Moreover, the Redmond has released only few smartphones with Windows 10 Mobile preinstalled. Since the popularity of Microsoft?s OS is very low, developers prefer to roll out their apps for Android and iOS platforms.
