Ever since its release, Pokemon GO has garnered millions of users and fans worldwide. Whether old or young, everyone just wanted a piece of the action. Along with this, several Pokemon GO-related apps started cropping up. Some of them are quite invasive that Niantic decided to take them down. PokeVision is one of them.
For those who are new to Pokemon GO, PokeVision is a third-party app that provides map and ?radar? tracking of Pokemon. The app was released in response to complaints about the Pokemon GO app?s buggy and unreliable ?nearby? feature. PokeVision provided a more accurate positioning system for Pokemon. Perhaps, even better than the actual Pokemon GO app itself. Unfortunately, Niantic viewed this as cheating and goes against the vision of?the game.
After the shutdown, Pokemon GO ratings on the App Store started to decline. Around 50 million users of PokeVision were left disappointed.
Fortunately, not all is lost. There are still some third-party Pokemon GO apps out there that survived Niantic?s purge. TheBitBag has rounded them up for you.
This new app not only helps users find Pokemon but it also notifies them if one is near. Even with a locked screen. Users only need to set which Pokemon they want to find. When they come to an area with those Pokemon, they will receive a push notification though the locked screen. Another feature of this app is the scanning function. Where users can scan which Pokemon are available in their area and for how long the Pokemon will remain in the said area. Fair warning though, this feature of the app is available only as an in-app purchase. Users will have the ability to scan ten times for $1.99.
Skiplagged is a browser-based app used for finding Pokemon in ?the wild?. I shows a map of the users? general area along with the present Pokemon. This app started out as a flight and hotel search website.
Similar to PokeVision, Pokemesh can show users which Pokemon ?are available in their surrounding area. This app gives users the ability to filter out Pokemon they are not interested in finding as well as running in background mode. Handy when you?re running low on battery.
Like the Pokemesh, the Pokiimap is an APK for Android devices. It has the same features of Pokemesh.
As with all third-party APK, users are warned to take extreme caution before and during installation. These apps are out of Google Play coverage. TheBitBag does not condone nor take any responsibility with the use of said apps outside of Google?s app store.
