The latest update to the popular augmented reality game Pokemon GO left many fans angry especially since the three-step tracker feature and all other third-party pok?mon tracing maps were banned and shut down by Niantic.
In addition the update even made it difficult for gamers to catch new Pokemon and despite the higher progression level, gamers aren?t able to catch even the low level Weedles or Pidgins.?Players reported they ended up wasting Pok?Balls on even pok?mon with low CP (combat power).
Developer Niantic Labs has now revealed that the game is actually suffering from a bug that is making it difficult to catch Pok?mons by affecting the game? throw accuracy. They have promised to release a new fix for this very problem soon though they didn?t specify the time.
?Trainers, a new bug affecting throw accuracy increases the odds of escape and omits the XP bonus. We are working on a fix, stay tuned…,? Pok?mon GO posted on its Twitter account Thursday.
Apparently, the bug allows the Pok?mons to break free from Pok? Balls despite having landed on them. Gamers are even suggesting that their throws are curving more often than before, however, this doesn?t seem to be the problem. Niantic even admitted that the glitch is denying players their experience bonuses with successful captures. They have told players to watch out for an inbound patch.
Battery Saver in iOS
Meanwhile, the developer has also promised to reinstate the game?s battery saving mode for iOS platform. As the name suggests the feature when enabled, the iPhone went to dim mode though it allowed the game to run in background to scan new Pokemon. The update had removed this feature in Pokemon GO version available for Apple?s iPhone.
?We have been hearing the feedback loud and clear about the removal of the Battery Saver mode on iOS devices,? Niantic said in a post on Facebook. ?We had removed this feature as several users were experiencing it to be buggy, but we are fairly confident that a fix for this should roll out within the next several days.?
However, Niantic didn?t clarify whether three step tracker would be returning. The developer company did explain to fans the reason behind removing the step counter saying that the feature did not meet our underlying product goals. Niantic further clarified that the third-party services were consuming server resources and causing frequent server overload besides preventing further expansion of the game to the whole world.
