Niantic Labs recently added the Generation 2 set of Pokemon in the hit mobile game Pokemon GO. Alongside these new creatures are the Special Items that would make certain the Pokemon evolves. However, these items are so rare that trainers are having a hard time finding them. On a good note, a new update made acquiring these items a bit easier.
A previous report stated that through these Special Items, or also known as Evolution Items, trainers can transform certain Pokemon into their final form. However, as rare as those creatures are, the items are atypical as well. Also, it was not that easy to get these special stones for there was only one thing you can try to acquire them.
The same post then revealed that there is no guaranteed way to get these items. Trainers should just visit PokeStops every day and spin the Photo Discs. The roulette will pick and give you a random item. You can only use it once a day so if you did not get a Special Item today, better try it again tomorrow.
New Way Of Acquiring Special Items
With the recent update, the process of getting Evolution Items has changed. Although the items will still be picked randomly, one Special stone is now guaranteed. It can be recalled that spinning the Photo Disc for seven consecutive days will give trainers a number of random items. But according to SlashGear, the update will now include one random Special Item in the pack.
Keep in mind that the Evolution Item will only be available on the seventh day of daily spinning at the PokeStop. Meaning, gamers will still receive random things during the first six days before getting their hands on the Special Item at the end of the week. Clearly, this is way better than the previous process, which did not guarantee any Evolution stones.
List of Special Items
As of writing, there are five Evolution Items in the game. It includes Dragon Scale, King’s Rock, Metal Coat, Sun Stone, and Upgrade. Each of these items will transform certain Pokemon into their ultimate form. Through these items, you can have Kingdra, Politoed, Slowking, Steelix, Scizor, Sunflora, Bellossom, and Porygon2.
