Trainers in Pokemon GO have been waiting for the official release of the Generation 2 Pokemon in the game. For months they have been disappointed by several fake news about the arrival of the creatures. But this time, Niantic has already confirmed the launch with over 80 new Pokemon to be added to the game including the rare ones.
On Tuesday morning, the developer announced that Gen 2 will roll out by the end of this week, Forbes reported. According to the statement, the new creatures will arrive all at once including Totodile, Chikorita, and Cyndaquil. Also, other evolution of Gen 1 Pokemon will be in the update, so gamers should watch out for their arrival.
“Today is a momentous occasion for our team here at Niantic which has been hard at work to deliver these additional Pokemon and build upon the encounter and capture mechanics for our passionate global community of Trainers playing Pokemon GO,” said John Hanke, founder and CEO of Niantic. He also mentioned their plans of continuing support for the game by adding “new gameplay features, in-game and live events, more Pokemon to discover and much more.”
This statement alone indicates that the developers will never stop adding improvements in Pokemon GO. Clearly, the game is still far from over and Niantic will certainly make sure that their community will remain satisfied through the years. With that fact at hand, it is safe to assume that the upcoming Gen 2 creatures will include some of the rare ones.
Pokemon GO Gen 2 Rare Pokemon
These 80+ creatures Niantic was talking about of course include some of the common ones. On the list are Poliwag, Sentret, Hoothoot, Ledyba, Spinarak, Chinchou, and Snubbull. But, the rare ones are definitely the main attraction of the list. Although the developer did not confirm as to which rare Pokemon are in the Pokemon GO update, still, trainers will surely want all of them.
Some of these exceptional creatures are Entei, Raikou, and Suicune. These are the three legendary dogs in the Silver and Gold version of the Pokemon. Ho-Oh, the legendary fire-bird, might also be in the update as Lugia and Celebi. However, it might be too early for some to encounter legendary Pokemon, so let us go back to the rare ones first.
Larvitar, Clefable, Steelix, Miltank, Tyrogue, Hitmontop, Smeargle, Porygon2, and Blissey are the creatures you should anticipate. There are also new evolution for Eevee coming up like Umbreon and Espeon. However, as of writing, there is no way to know which Gen 2 Pokemon will be in the update. Let’s wait for the patch to roll out to confirm these theories.
