A Pokemon GO Mewtwo event in Times Square will most likely happen than in Japan
A Pokemon GO Mewtwo event teaser?

After several reports of Pokemon GO Events coming this year, another one has recently gained attention because of its possible magnitude. Pokemon GO Mewtwo Event details were  recently published with some exciting information, the best of which is its possible location: Tsuruma Park in Nagoya, Japan.

According to Video Games Republic, the event is considered one of the biggest yet. Niantic Labs is supposedly holding the exclusive event only in Japan, with Tsuruma Park as the location because of its symbolic landscape: It looks like a poke ball.

According to the article, players will be given 10 minutes to try and capture the legendary Pokemon. They are being asked to gather as many Pokeballs as the MewTwo is quite difficult to capture. Ultra balls are preferred for this event, and berries won’t have the same effect on this legendary Pokemon.

Tsuruma Park is quite popular among Pokemon GO enthusiasts as the place is known for spawning rare Pokemons like Blastoise, Venusaur, Gyarados, and Dragonite.

Real or Hoax?

Looking into the story however, one can see that there are a lot of plot holes. For one, the article says that Niantic Labs will be working alongside local enforcements and make them dress Officer Jenny uniforms to get into the mood of the event. The article also said “They could also dress up the K9 dogs as Growlithes and the medics as Nurse Joys.” Crazy.

Of course, if we can remember, the original Pokemon GO trailer shows that the MewTwo will be launched in an event in Times Square, New York, and we’re betting that this is a more likely scene to happen.

Niantic Labs CEO John Hanke previously said that Legendary Pokemon will come out in 2017. Pokemon also just recently celebrated its 21st anniversary this year and Pokemon GO released a festive Pikachu to commemorate the occasion. “I can safely say we’ll see more of it [Legendary Pokemon] this year,” said Hanke.

And lastly, upon deeper look, we found out that the article is linked to a rather unlikely source, prompting us to believe that no matter how cool, the Pokemon GO MewTwo Event details are likely a hoax.
