Will Gamescom 2016 be the place where Pokemon GO players finally get their hands on legendary Pokemon? With more than 350,000 attendees and all of the world?s top gaming press expected to descend in Cologne, Germany this week, it seems like the perfect opportunity for Nintendo to steal the show.
Will Pokemon GO Legendaries Pop Up At Gamescom?
At last month?s San Diego Comic Con, rumors of possible rare and legendary Pokemon sightings caused a ruckus but eventually amounted to nothing. With the game having been released for more than a month now, it would be smart of Niantic and Nintendo to keep the momentum going by making a splash at Gamescom — one of the industry?s biggest gatherings.
During Pokemon GO?s big SDCC showcase, Niantic said that legendaries would not appear in the game until its worldwide release. Since then, the game was finally rolled out into major markets like Southeast Asia and Latin America, but it is still missing from numerous other territories.
If Pokemon GO fails to deliver, Gamescom attendees can turn to the 3DS installments of the franchise to get their legendary fix.?Nintendo Insider has confirmed that Shiny versions of Yveltal and Xerneas will be handed out during a special distribution event at the conference.
?Shiny Xerneas will be Level 100 with the Fairy Aura ability and the moves Geomancy, Moonblast, Aromatherapy and Focus Blast. Whereas Shiny Yveltal will be Level 100 with the Dark Aura ability and the moves Oblivion Wing, Sucker Punch, Dark Pulse, and Foul Play,? reads the announcement.
These legendaries can be claimed in either Pokemon X, Pokemon Y, Pokemon Omega Ruby, or Pokemon Alpha Sapphire.
