Niantic isn’t slowing down when it comes to surprises for Pokemon GO players as it looks like another event is due out soon. After the recently concluded Rock-type event a few weeks ago, Niantic will once again have another event catered towards a specific Pokemon type. This time though, the upcoming Pokemon GO event will have not one but two Pokemon types to commemorate. Here’s all we know about the Pokemon GO Ice and Fire event.
Team Eevolution is at it again with their leaks for Pokemon GO and this time, the group reveals that the next Pokemon GO event is going to give players a chance to capture many Ice and Fire-type Pokemon. Even better is that the event is set to launch pretty soon and in less than 2 weeks from now, Niantic will officially give the go signal for it.
“From 1:00 P.M. PDT on June 13 to 1:00 P.M. PDT on June 20, 2017, Trainers around the world will discover more Charmander, Cyndaquil, Growlithe, Houndour, Ponyta, Swinub, Vulpix, and their Evolutions. You’ll also want to keep an eye out for Sneasel, Magmar, Cloyster, and other Fire types and Ice types!,” says Team Eevolution, quoting the alleged upcoming social media announcement by Niantic.
It’s worth noting that this is the first time that Niantic will give players increased chances to capture two Pokemon types. The reason why Niantic decided to pair Ice and Fire types is unknown but it’s probably an homage to George R.R. Martin’s A Song Of Ice And Fire.
That’s not all the Pokemon GO Ice and Fire type event brings. According to Team Eevolution, players will get XP bonuses for successfully catching Pokemon with Nice, Great, and Excellent throws. Curveballs and First Throws are set to give players XP bonuses as well.
The Pokemon GO Ice and Fire event will give players the chance to not only catch more of a specific Pokemon as it’s also a good way to level up a lot. Added to the Pokeball throw XP bonus, players will also get more XP for hatching Eggs. To top it all of, players will get the chance to buy Lucky Eggs at a 50% discount in the in-game shop.
For those skeptical about Team Eevolution’s post, it’s worth noting that they are the same group the leaked the Water type event a few days prior to the start of the Water Festival. They also leaked the Easter Event. Teem Eevolution’s leaks have been on point in leaking the exact statements of Niantic’s social media accounts. It’s almost certain that the rumored next event is real.
