It seems like a new Pokemon GO holiday event is happening right now and has made many a fan happy. While the mobile game has lost plenty of traction since it was released, the game still has plenty of fans. Like previous events, this one has increased the spawn rate of certain Pokemon, this time focusing on the three starters.
Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle
The Silph Road Reddit shared the image of the event announcement, making a number of fellow users happy. While some players might have enough candy for a Blastoise or Charizard, they might also have a missing starter. This will definitely help fans who?ve been dying to find Bulbasaur or Squirtle.
Prior to this, the Niantic released holiday-themed Pikachus as part of a Pokemon GO Holiday event. Since the December holidays are coming to a close, it?s doubtful fans will find?Santa Claus Pikachus?after the event. However, Pikachu could be considered a starter partner Pokemon, since there was an easter egg fans could do if they wanted it as their first Pokemon.
A new set of gift boxes have also been made available. Another bonus given by Niantic is longer duration for lures, making the effect of these items last two times longer. The bundles and all the holiday boosts will be available until December 3.
As expected, the locations for various Pokemon have been moved. Niantic does this every month or so to keep things fresh for players, and the moderator of The?Silph Road subreddit has confirmed this. Some fans might be wondering if this was done to accommodate the new event, but that?s doubtful.
It will be interesting to see if players catch any interesting new Pokemon that haven?t appeared in their location. While the mobile game recently introduced some new Pokemon, they?re babies and can only be caught by getting a Poke? Egg from a Poke? Stop. Still, that shouldn?t discourage any fans of the mobile game that have yet to catch them all.
Since the Pokemon GO Holiday event is only available for a limited amount of time, players should hurry. Whether it?s Charmander, Bulbasaur or Squirtle, players should take the time to try and catch these lovable creatures.
Pokemon GO is available now on iOS and Android devices. It?s a free game but has in-app purchases. The prices for said in-app purchases have been discounted for the holidays, showing that Niantic is in a giving mood.
