?Pokemon GO? Gen 2 Release Update: Totodile, Chikorita, Cyndaquil & More Soon

By on

Fans of Pokemon GO across the globe will surely be delighted to know that the mobile hit-game is going to expand more as recent reports say that Generation 2 of the creatures are going to be added as well as notable evolutions of some Gen 1 Pokemon.

It is a known fact that Niantic?s mobile game only features Generation 1 of the creatures. Even the legendaries are not included yet. As of now, there are only 151 Pokemon available in the game, but according to recent news, it has already been confirmed that the second generation of the creatures is going to be included in the coming update.

Pokemon starters like Totodile, Chikorita and Cyndaquil are the ones covered by Gen 2. Aside from the three, interesting first evolution of Pokemon will also be included such as Pichu, Igglybuff, Cleffa and Togepi. But, it would not be just that, because additional evolution for Gen 1 Pokemon will also be available in the update.

First, we have Eevee. In today?s Pokemon GO, the creature only has three possible evolutions – Jolteon, Flareon and Vaporeon. But if the update comes, it will have two more transformations namely Umbreon and Espeon. Aside from Eevee, Onix, Zubat, Horsea, Scyther and Slowpoke will also have their evolutions in the Gen 2 update with Steelix, Crobat, Kingdra, Scizor and Slowking, respectively.

Now, with these Pokemon coming to the game, it is best advised that you should collect candies now for future use. For example, Onix will require 50 Onix Candies to become a Steelix. Same number of candies goes with Slowpoke and Scyther to evolve. On the other hand, Horsea and Zubat will require 100 candies for each of them to evolve.

However, although Gen 2 is being highly-anticipated as early as now, it is not yet clear when it is going to be available in the game. Niantic already teased the fans during the San Diego Comic Con 2016 about the update, but they have not released an official release date yet. Hopefully, it would come before 2016 ends.
