Pokemon GO Gen 2 And Legendaries Announcement On December 12? Niantic Teases New Monster Reveals

By on

Pokemon GO Gen 2 might officially be coming true. Niantic has stated that more monsters would be coming to the hit mobile game in the future. Apparently, more details will be revealed on December 12, so fans won’t have to wait too long. Will we finally see the Gen 2 Pokemon? Or do we just get the remaining Gen 1 legendaries?

The announcement was made on the official Pokemon Facebook page. Fans have been waiting for this day since the game arrived earlier this year. It seems like the move was needed since the mobile game has lost a lot of steam recently. Should be curious to see if the addition of Gen 2 Pokemon makes a big difference.

Pokemon GO Gen 2

For those unaware of what Pokemon GO Gen 2 could bring, this means the Gold and Silver generation. Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver were the first ever sequels to the hit Gameboy games. Not only did the games add 100 or so new monsters, but it also introduced baby Pokemon and eggs.

Many fans actually consider Pokemon Gold and Silver to be the best games of the series. Now that Sun and Moon are available, we’ll have to wait and see how the fans compare the games. However, the two sequels were quite revolutionary, introducing many concepts that would become common in future games.

Legen-Wait For It-Dary

While most are hoping we will see Pokemon GO Gen 2, we could just see the additions of the Gen 1 legendaries. As of this writing, Mew, Mewtwo and the three legendary birds have yet to be added. Ditto was recently added, no longer making the transforming blob rare.

Niantic should probably release the legendaries and the Gen 2 Pokemon simultaneously. It would please fans a lot since they will have more Pokemon to catch. Just adding the five legendaries will entertain some but will disappoint most.

Niantic will announce the monsters on December 12. So that is when fans will find out if we are in Pokemon GO Gen 2 territory already. There is only one week before the announcement, so fans should be excited to play Pokemon GO again. A Starbucks event for the game could be on the way as well.
