Last month, Niantic finally launched Gen 2 in Pokemon GO with the Baby Pokemon being the initial new Pokemon. The developer also said that the other Gen 2 Pokemon will be coming in the months to follow. Now that January is upon us, there?s a chance that Niantic might release a Pokemon GO update featuring more Pokemon from Gen 2. Here are some of the Pokemon we can expect to get first.
Gen 2 was officially introduced with the addition of Baby Pokemon. However, the heart of Gen 2 will still be the three starters: Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile. It?s very likely for Niantic to introduce the Gen 2 starters next as it?s the most logical move following the release of the next gen Pokemon. If this is the case, then Professor Willow might be handing out one of the starters for free.
Gen 1 Evolutions
Another likely Pokemon GO update is one that features the evolutions of some Gen 1 Pokemon that are found in Gen 2. The Gen 1 evolutions found in Gen 2 are Steelix, Crobat, Espeon, Umbreon, Slowking, Scizor, Kingdra and Porygon2. The only thing certain for now is that players should start saving up on Candies from the pre-evolution of these Pokemon.
Gen 1 Legendaries?
Oddly enough, Niantic is still yet to release the Pokemon GO update featuring Gen 1 Legendaries. It?s quite surprising that the Baby Pokemon and Gen 2 were revealed first before the Legendaries. Still, we shouldn?t count out MewTwo and the rest of the Legendaries just yet. There?s still a possibility that Niantic will give us a chance to get the Legendaries first before Gen 2. There are more Legendaries in Gen 2, and Niantic might not want players to be backlogged in Legendary Pokemon.
