Eevee Names

Niantic Labs recently released the Generation 2 set of Pokemon in their hit mobile game Pokemon GO. Meaning, there are a number of Gen 1 creatures that can now evolve into their final form. That, of course, includes the normal-type Pokemon Eevee, who has two new transformations brought by the update. Here is how you can acquire them.

It has already been weeks since a new bunch of Pokemon landed on the mobile game. It gives evolution to first gen creatures like Onix, Clefairy, Jigglypuff, Scyther, and many more. Among the most interesting ones released is the new transformation of Eevee. Back in Gen 1, the normal-type creature only had three evolutions; after the update, it now has five.

Trainers all know that before the patch arrived, evolving Eevee into either a fire-type, electric-type, or water-type can be done just by changing the Pokemon’s name. To get a Flareon (fire), rename your Eevee to “Pyro.” Jolteon (electric), on the other hand, will appear once you name your Eevee “Sparky.” Of course, we also have Vaporeon (water), which you can acquire by using the name of “Rainer.”

Now, in the latest update of Pokemon GO, Umbreon (Dark) and Espeon (Psychic) were added to Eevee’s evolution. Similar to Gen 1, gamers should just change their Eevee’s name. For the dark-type, rename to “Tamao.” For the psychic-type, however, you should use the name “Sakura.” That should do it for the names, but there are a few more things you should do to make sure the evolution would take place.

What To Do After Changing Eevee’s Name

Once you have already renamed your dog-like Pokemon, you should quit and reload your Pokemon GO app. According to Eurogamer, that is to double check that the changed name has been saved. Lastly, after double-checking, feed your Eevee with Candy, probably 50 or more just like how you evolve other types of Pokemon.

Keep in mind that you should type those names in the same manner it was written above, minus the quotation marks. If you have done it correctly, your Eevee should evolve into the form you desired it to be.

There you have it! Some of the latest news and updates about Eevee on Pokemon GO. Have you experienced problems in transforming your Eevee? Or was it as easy as mentioned above? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
