Looks like developer Niantic will be focusing more on a Pokemon GO Easter event instead of a St. Patrick’s Day. Fans have been expecting some sort of event based on the latter, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Niantic will probably have an easier time making bonus goodies for Easter rather than St. Patrick’s Day, which is fine.

Previous events were based on holidays celebrated in many countries, like Christmas, so it’s easy to see why St. Patrick’s Day won’t be one. The fact that there hasn’t been any news regarding a possible event somehow shows that we won’t be seeing one, since Niantic announces such happenings a few days early. It seems like Niantic might be waiting for Easter as their next event, which should be a fun one.

Possible Easter Prizes

Since Niantic might be working on a Pokemon GO Easter event, it’s relatively easy to guess what type of bonuses there will be. We will probably see an abundance of Pokemon Eggs in the various stops of the game, which is good. There are a number of baby Pokemon that hatch from eggs and can’t be caught in the wild.

It will be interesting to see what other bonuses will be added to the game, like increased spawn rates for certain Pokemon or extra candies. These are always what fans see in events for the mobile game and no one really complains, since they’re okay. Here is hoping that the amount of Pokemon Eggs are the actual prizes, since players will definitely want them.

More Events

With a Pokemon GO Easter event likely coming, we can also expect more of them to be based on holidays and maybe even seasons. A summer event would be ideal for the game, since a lot of people will be up and about during that time. Niantic definitely has something planned, since these events have gotten fans interested in the game again.

It’s no secret that the game isn’t as popular as it once was, but it’s not dead in the water like some people are saying. The addition of over 80 new Pokemon from Gen 2 definitely helped, as some of the best creatures in the series come from this generation. Now that fans have seemingly returned to the mobile game, it will be interesting to see if its popularity goes up or down.

Pokemon GO is available now on iOS and Android devices. The game is a free download, but there are certain items that can be bought with real money.
