Pokemon GO Buddy Pokemon: Which Pokemon Can Produce Candy Fast? How Far You Need to Walk with Each Pokemon?

By on
Pokemon GO

Niantic had released Buddy Pokemon feature for Pokemon Go players on Sept. 10. However, the update was not readily available for all players. Today, Buddy Pokemon feature is now seeding to wider audience.

What is Buddy Pokemon?

Buddy Pokemon feature allows players to select a Pokemon from Pokedex as a buddy. The Buddy Pokemon will walk alongside the trainer. By walking the selected buddy character, players can earn Candy.

Different Buddy Pokemon will require players to walk different distances. For instance, a player has to walk for 3 km to earn a Candy by walking with Abra. On the other hand, using Pikachu as Buddy Pokemon will require players to walk only 1 km.

One should be aware of the fact that without swapping a Buddy Pokemon with another one, players cannot find out how far they need to walk to fetch a Candy. A word of caution is that if a player wants to swap a buddy, he will end up losing all the progress that he has made with that Buddy Pokemon.

Pokemon that require players to walk distance of 1 km are the ones that can produce Candy faster. Following is a list of Pokemon categorized in distances of 1 km, 3 km and 5 km.
