PlayStation Plus Free Games September 2016: Top 3 Games And Genres You Shouldn’t Expect Next Month

PlayStation Plus Free Games

PlayStation Plus games often include the console?s great old titles or new indie games. However, there are some games and genres that Sony rarely offers in the their monthly lineup. Here?s a list of titles and genres you shouldn?t expect on the PlayStation Plus free games library this September.

Japanese Games on PS4

Technically, Sony does give out free Japanese games on the PS3 and Vita but seldomly on the PS4. For example, Oreshika Tainted Bloodlines was given out last July on the Vita and Demon Souls on the PS3 last April 2013. It?s possible that Sony is trying to be careful in releasing good Japanese games on their current-generation console to avoid triggering a massive influx of players seeking to leach on the PlayStation Plus Free Games too much.

Sports Games

While it?s still possible for Sony to include older Madden NFL or FIFA titles in their PlayStation Plus Free Games this September, their recent iterations will all come out by the end of September. While Sony gave away NBA 2K16 last month, it isn?t viable for the company to give out last year iterations of previous games that will shortly come out in the same month. Additionally, those players who prefer the older games may have already bought a copy and are playing the game just for the sake of continuing their in-game season playthrough.

Fighting Games

Sony has already given out a few fighting games like Skullgirls Encore and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax on the PS3. Additionally, the first Injustice: Gods Among Us also became available for free on the PS4 and Street Fighter X Tekken and Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend on the PS Vita. Most fighting games have reliable shelf life which makes them a huge bargain if they?re given out for free. Older versions of known fighting game series still see notable relevance today like Street Fighter 3 Third Strike, King of Fighters ?98, and recently Super Smash Brothers Melee in Evo 2016.

Despite the exclusions of these games, players can definitely look forward to more AAA action games from developers like EA, Ubisoft, Bethesda and Rockstar in the Playstation Plus free games lineup this month. We?ll just have to wait for the official release to see the available titles for ourselves.
