It is now July, so fans can expect their PlayStation Plus free games sometime this week. It?s a quality month as well, since Sony stepped up their game a bit and got Saints Row: Gat out of Hell and Furi, both of which are completely different from each other, but interesting nonetheless.
Saints Row: Gat out of Hell is the direct follow-up to Saints Row 4 and has the president getting kidnapped by the Devil himself. Only series veteran Johnny Gat can save him for some reason, so he goes to hell and saves the president. Those with a save of Saints Row 4 will see their custom character get kidnapped, since he was the president in the game.
One new title joining the roster of PlayStation Plus free games is Furi. This interesting little title has players being constantly put into boss fights, similar to the PS2 classic Shadow of the Colossus. While the concepts are similar, the bosses in Furi seem to be legitimately evil, while the ones in Shadow of the Colosus were just beasts minding their own business.
PS3 owners also get two free games to enjoy in Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood and Fat Princess. Both games are solid in their own right, though one has to wonder why Gat out of Hell wasn?t also chosen, since it is also available for the last-gen console, along with Saints Row 4.
Call of Juarez is a typical, but fun first-person shooter set in the wild west, while Fat Princess is a multiplayer-centric slash-em-up where players have to make their princesses fat so that the other player can?t get to them. The goal for Fat Princess is to successfully capture the opposing princess.
Rounding out the last batch of PlayStation Plus games is the often ignored handheld of Sony, the PS Vita. The platform gets an RPG called Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines, which has gotten plenty of positive reviews and Prince of Persia: Revelations, a port of the PS2 game. Both of these are steals for those that own the Vita and should be purchased immediately.
Sony usually releases their PlayStation Plus free games on the first Tuesday of the month, meaning we can expect to see the titles pop up on the store on July 5. There are also a lot of new games coming out on Tuesday such as The Banner Saga 2, Hawken, Lost Sea, and a whole lot more.
