Is the rumored PewDiePie YouTube deletion news actually a thing? Apparently, the YouTube megastar PewDiePie has vowed to delete his YouTube channel as soon as he hits 50 million subscribers. Surprisingly, the gaming vlogger and comic stated that he will carry through his promise to delete the channel today at 5pm GMT.
The Reason Behind The PewDiePie YouTube Deletion?
Apparently, the reason behind PewDiePie?s bold move is due to a dispute with the Google-owned platform regarding declining page views. Felix Kjellberg also was?known as PewDiePie tweeted on Thursday which is yesterday that he will delete ?Tomorrow at 5pm GMT.??Furthermore, the famous YouTuber notched his 50 millionth subscriber worldwide on Thursday night.
Back on December 2, PewDiePie posted a video and declared that he would delete his channel. In the video, the YouTuber also expressed his frustrations regarding YouTube?s changes that affected his recommended videos which resulted in a massive loss of views.
On December 5, he tweeted that YouTube appears to be investigating the issues. According to PewDiePie, he had been getting an approximately 30% of his views from suggested videos section of YouTube. However, it plunged to less than 1% for the videos he uploaded last month.
However, it is still unclear if PewDiePie is serious about his vows in deleting the YouTube Channel. Furthermore, making a promise about deleting your channel is quite similar to announcing that you?ve decided to quit being a YouTuber. In addition, it isn?t something most bloggers follow through.
On the other hand, PewDiePie stated that complaining about YouTube gets you views. It?s quiet a technique that YouTubers are only happy to take advantage of when they are fishing for a headline that will cut through the click bait.
PewDiePie YouTube Deletion Threat Still On?
At the present time, Felix Kjellberg or simply PewDiePie is currently working on Scare PewDiePie season 2. Only YouTube Red subscribers can access the said web series.
