By on

Atlus, creators for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, has announced that pre-orders are now open for the game and that it will be available for $59.99 when it launches later in the year.

According to the website, an Army of Shadows is attacking, but it is not yet sure who the mastermind is behind all of the attacks. The prequel was named one of the Best Overall Fighting Games of 2012 and maintained success through 2013. The ultimate tag team game now returns to present another heated battle as ATLUS and Arc System Works found resonance among the existing Persona/ATLUS fanbase as well as the hardcore fighting community. Fans will enjoy controlling the beautifully animated character sprites and will be experiencing top notch quality. The game also features fully voiced localization to bring the popular characters to life.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is also known as Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold and is the sequel to the fighting game Persona 4 Arena. This sequel will feature playable characters from both prequels namely: Persona 3 and Persona 4. Fan favorites from the Persona 3 game like the bat wielding Junpei Iori and the live action superhero actress Yukari Takeba once again return to the game. There is also a mysterious new character named Sho Minazuki who doesn?t have the power of a Persona but has superior fighting prowess by using his fighting techniques which involve two katanas. He is intent to destroy anyone or anything that stands in his way and he will pose a serious threat to the Shadow Operatives as well as the Investigation Team. On top of all of that, there seems to be someone who looks very similar to Sho but actually wields a Persona!

If those things weren?t enough to get players excited, the sequel also adds an all new depth to its combat system. Most of the characters will now have a ?Shadow? version of themselves with completely different fighting mechanics as well as other technicalities that appeal to both newcomers and hardcore gamers. Existing characters will also be getting new moves to add on to their current set of skills.

The game is slated to be available on September 30 2014.
