Gadgets have been popping out of the market everytime a new feature has been discovered. Most of these products became successful in their campaigns, but technology advances rapidly these days and the decline comes early. With the success of these smartwatches, tech giants are competing for the best in the market and Pebble Steel remains at the top.

What Does a Smartwatch Do?

A smartwatch is a wristwatch that has wireless connection to your mobile device. These watches can display incoming messages and read them on your wrist. It can even vibrate to let you know when a message has been sent or when a call comes in. Smartwatches even display notifications from various social media accounts that you have, including your email. Simply put, it?s like a satellite version of the smartphone inside your pocket.

How the Pebble Watch is Different

There are plenty of smartwatches available in the market. Among the well ? known ones is the Samsung Gear watch that costs $300. It only works with three Samsung smartphone models, lets you make phone calls (by placing the watch to your head) and has a camera on the watchband.

Originally a Kickstarter project, the Pebble watch has a black and white screen display. The product does not show color and the backlight turns on when you wriggle your wrist. It does not have a touchscreen display, a microphone and a speaker.

So, how did this thing got to the top? It is small and thin.

Long Battery Life, Easy to Navigate, Waterproof, and Classy

The Pebble watch has a long battery life, which can last for a week. The Samsung Gear watch only lasts about two days. You can easily navigate with just four buttons: Up, Down, Select and Back. It is also waterproof ? not drizzleproof, not splashproof. You can use it while taking a shower, when going out for a swim, or even when scuba diving (as long as you stay less than 165 feet). You would not even dare to do this with other smartwatches.

The Pebble watch is still available for $150, but the Pebble Steel costs $100 more. It comes with a stainless steel case, metal and leather bands, and simply fashionable.
