After many media outlets reporting on the supposed purchase by Manny Pacquiao of a mansion previously owned by diva Jennifer Lopez, it was finally confirmed that a downpayment was already made on the house.
The said property is said to be worth around USD12 million, with the Pacquiaos making a partial payment on the property.
The media frenzy about the sale
Many were surprised at the purchase, as it was made days before the much anticipated fight between him and Floyd ?The Money Man? Mayweather Jr billed as ?Battle for Greatness? to be held on May 2, 2015 in Las Vegas, NV.
TMZ Sports reported that the purchase price on the mansion includes all the furniture and furnishings in it. The boxing great fell in love with the 10,000 square foot mansion as soon as he saw it. He moved quickly to put money in escrow for the property, eventually securing a place for his five children and wife Jinkee, as well as his extended family and his entourage.
The property’s history
The property was originally owned by Sean ?P Diddy? Combs back in the 1990?s and sold it in 2001. The property includes seven bedrooms, seven and half baths and a home theater reportedly worth USD200,000. As part of the package, the previous owners stocked the wet bar for the Pacquiao family. It also boasts of a two storey entrance with a sweeping staircase and the master bedroom has his and her bathrooms. The property also has a spa bathtub.
What the Pacquiao’s say of their new home
Now, the whole family is in Beverly Hills, CA and has started to live in the mansion. In one interview, with ABS-CBN?s ?Umagang Kay Ganda?, Princess, the PacMan?s eldest daughter claimed ?(We wanted to move in) right now because the swimming pool is amazing.?
Queenie, the boxing great?s second daughter added, ?(We are excited) because of the swimming pool. The room is amazing.?
Pacquiao?s two boys, Emmanuel Jr and Michael Stephen are swooning over the home theater system which not only has high definition screen and surround sound, it can seat twenty people at one time.
As for the matriarch of the family, Jinkee Pacquiao could not believe she now lives in one of the most secure and swankiest communities in the world. She recounted how she and Manny used to live in a modest house in General Santos City.
