Will Overwatch?s next hero be voiced by Terry Crews? The actor, comedian, and avid gamer has been very vocal?on social media about his desire to play Doomfist, a major character within the game?s universe. Earlier today, the ?White Chicks? star was spotted on-site at Blizzard?s HQ in Irvine, California, fueling speculation that he is joining the game.

Overwatch Terry Crews Collab Could Be Happening

World of Warcraft Project Director Terran Gregory and Blizzard artist Renaud Galand both shared photos with Crews on their respective Twitter accounts. Crews was first linked to the Doomfist role last month, when the game?s fanbase started?a campaign to land him the role. The actor quickly responded, saying that he would love to portray the character.

Crews? boisterous?persona is certainly a good match for the character. In Overwatch lore, Doomfist is a legendary hero known for his immense strength. His name comes from the signature gauntlet that he wields in combat. Doomfist?s existence has been teased since the very first Overwatch trailer that debuted in 2014.

In the clip, we see two children visiting a museum exhibit celebrating the heroes of Overwatch. One of the items on display is none other than the Doomfist gauntlet. It isn?t long before a fight over the weapon breaks out, as the museum is stormed by Widowmaker and Reaper. Their heist is thwarted by the efforts of Winston and Tracer, who get some help when one of the kids puts on the gauntlet and joins the action.

Further references to Doomfist can be seen in the game?s Numbani level. The weapon itself serves as the payload that the attacking team must transport to it?s destination. There are also posters scattered throughout the environment showing three distinct versions of the character. It?s likely the Terry Crews Overwatch Doomfist rendition isn?t the first man to wield the gauntlet.

Will Terry Crews portray the next Overwatch hero? We?ll have to wait and see.
