If you are an Overwatch fan, you should know by now that there is a new hero called Sombra. Now what everyone is dying to know is when the new Sombra character will be out.
It looks like release date for Overwatch Sombra is delayed, with Blizzard stressing that they will only make the character available once they ensure that her balancing is thoroughly tested. Developers at Blizzard previously talked about the lengthy ARG process in revealing Sombra. Given all these factors, many assume that the new hero will not be released this year.
It seems the most realistic time for a Sombra release date is in 2017. In spite of the wait, diehards remain excited as Sombra is said to be one of the most powerful heroes in the game.
Blizzard has recently announced a free Overwatch weekend on PC, PS4 and Xbox One from November 18 to November 21. However, gaming news claim that Sombra is not expected to become available during this time period. This means it is also possible that the much awaited character will be added either by late November or in early December.
One possible reason for Sombra not being part of the Blizzard?s free weekend is due to the fact that Overwatch Season Two is about to end on November 24. Forbes stated that it will be a bit weird to suddenly inject a totally new hero into the last few days of the season. It might be better to release Sombra after the season 2 ends to avoid an instant shakeup in the metagame.
Players will have full access to 22 heroes during the free weekend. It is unlikely that fans will get to enjoy an Overwatch Sombra experience next week or perhaps this year. Be sure to check back here soon as we will give you more news and updates about Overwatch Sombra release date.
