Blizzard?s team-based shooter has been around for months now, but the competition is still tough. These past weeks, players are hard-pressed on getting to the higher ranks in Overwatch Competitive Play, and it?s probably because there are a lot of rewards for those who are up in the rankings. Those still behind the scoreboard should act fast as the end of the first season is drawing near.
The Blizzard forum?s community manager recently reminded players that the end of season 1 of the Overwatch Competitive Play is coming to a close a couple of weeks from now. The announcement states, ?Season 1 will officially end on Wednesday, August 17 at 5:00 p.m. PT (August 18 at 12:00 a.m. UTC). For time zone assistance, and to see when Season 1 will end in your region.?
By that time, all rankings will be finalized and the due rewards will be given. If players have completed the placement matches at Competitive Play, they?ll be rewarded with a special spray and player icon. Both items will be unlocked upon logging into the account for the first time after the end of the season. There will also be an ?extra special player icon? and animated spray if players managed to rank in the top 500 worldwide.
On top of the extra cosmetic items, players will also be rewarded with Competitive Points depending on their Skill Rating. The rewards are as follows:
- ????????SR 0-39: 10 CPs
- ????????SR 40-45: 20 CPs
- ????????SR 46-49: 40 CPs
- ????????SR 50-52: 60 CPs
- ????????SR 53-55: 80 CPs
- ????????SR 56-59: 120 CPs
- ????????SR 60-64: 200 CPs
- ????????SR 65+: 300 CPs
Once the first season has ended, players will have a couple of weeks? rest before the next season of Overwatch Competitive Play begins. Season 2 is scheduled for Sept. 6, but it?s still subject to change, depending on what Blizzard wants to bring in the game.
