Fans looking for Outlander Season 3 spoilers don?t need to look very far to get their fix. In the same way that the first season was based on the book of the same name, and the season was based on the second volume, Dragonfly In Amber, Outlander Season 3 will be taking its cues from the third book in the series, Voyager.
During the show?s second season finale entitled ?Dragonfly in Amber?, Jamie and Claire find themselves separated by time — Claire has been transported back to the year 1968. As she explains her relationship with Jamie to her daughter, Brianna, she is shocked to discover that Jamie did not die in the battle she left him in and ends up deciding to go back in time to find him.
The story of Claire?s search is chronicled in Voyager, and one of the plotlines involves a sea chase in the West Indies. And as reported on The Bitbag, showrunner Ronald D. Moore has already expressed his excitement at these sea scenes, saying, ?I can?t wait to get out to sea. That?s what [I like], doing the tall ship section? I want to do the whole sea chase; that whole section is really going to be fun. I?m sure it will be really hard and I?ll regret it as soon as I start doing it, but I?m looking forward to it.?
In much the same way that Voyager tackled Claire?s 20 year disappearance from Jamie?s life, Outlander Season 3 will do the same. The Bitbag reports that executive producer Maril Davis says that she is excited to explore how Claire will navigate having Frank raise Brianna, who is not his child.
Davis also expressed her excitement at the prospect of casting Young Ian, who she reveals is her favorite character next to Claire and Jamie. The prospect of casting him is giving her considerable stress, according to the report, as she has ?a definite picture of him in her mind but she does not know where to find him yet.?
