Oppo have been exercising extreme caution with its research and development efforts. They clearly had their fans on the edge of their seats waiting for the company?s next flagship smartphone. Unfortunately, Oppo?s efforts were all in vain. A recent leak revealed that the company is expected to release their newest Oppo F1s smartphone model this week.
Dubbed as the ?Selfie Expert?, this new smartphone from Oppo is somewhat similar to its slightly older phone, the F1 Plus. Of course, with some minor differences in internal specs.
The F1s sports a 16-megapixel front-facing camera as well as a rear camera with a slightly lower pixel count, much like the F1 Plus. Although the cameras are not equipped with dual lenses, they?re still perfect for people who take social media to the next level.
Compared to its bigger brother, the F1 Plus, the F1s only supports HD resolution on its 5.5-inch screen. As well as donning a slightly slower processor, a MediaTek MT6750 as opposed to F1 Plus? Mediatek MT6755. In terms of memory size, the F1s is equipped with 3GB worth of RAM, just a bit smaller than its big brother.
Similar to the F1 Plus, the F1s will also include an ultra-fast finger print scanner under its home button.
Unfortunately, Oppo have decided to remain with Android 5.1 Lollipop instead of using Android 6.0 Marshmallow. A bit sad though. However, with a price tag of around $270, one cannot complain of that value for money.
In anticipation of the looming launch date, target countries such as Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia have started publishing promo videos for the F1s on their respective Youtube channels. The Malaysian version of the promo can be seen below.
According to sources, Oppo will take pre-orders for the Oppo F1s between 4th and 10th of August. This initial order period will also include exciting incentives in the form of exclusive gift packs. They will also be selling a unique unit, signed by a local celebrity to one lucky buyer.
