Who ever thought that OnePlus was going to skip OnePlus 4 altogether and just launch OnePlus 5 Smartphone? The company has just launched OnePlus 3T, OnePlus 3’s upgraded version. Both were released on the same year. Speculations went around that OnePlus 4 was snubbed due to marketing or technical issues. Number 4 is an unlucky number in China, this may be the reason why the model failed to see the light of day.
Actually, this really isn’t the strangest thing as Oppo and Vivo both did the same thing. They’re both owned BBK Electronics based in China. Vivo V5 was released immediately after Vivo V3 and didn’t mind to release the 4th generation per oneplus4.net.
OnePlus 5 Release Date
So the question remains: When will OnePlus 5 be released? Definitely in 2017 and hopefully, in the first or second quarter. But the exact date hasn’t been officially announced yet. The OnePlus 5T will also be out in the second half of 2017.
