While the company has yet to pull the curtain on its newest device, we already have a pretty clear idea of what it might be bringing to the table. To keep you updated, here’s a roundup of what to expect from the handset including the OnePlus 5 price, features and release date.
When will OnePlus 5 be released?
OnePlus has confirmed it is debuting the new phone at aat 12 p.m. ET on Tuesday, June 20, to be followed by a series of “pop-up events” held at select retail locations around the globe to show it off in person. What are its features?
Details are pretty few and far between right now. However, OnePlus has acknowledged that its upcoming handset will sport a Snapdragon 835 like the Samsung Galaxy S8 and many other high-end Android phones that debuted this year. It’ll keep the fingerprint scanner on the front, too. If the rumors are anything to go by, OnePlus 5 could arrive with a 5.5-inch display that boasts a 2,560×1,440-pixel QHD resolution.
Gobs of RAM (probably the same as OnePlus 3T’s 6GB or a bigger 8GB), 128 GB of storage, a hefty 3,600mAh battery and an improvement on the company’s signature Dash Charging are also expected.
Camera-wise, Android Police’s leaked render reveals that OnePlus is joining the dual camera craze. It particularly shows a horizontal, dual camera setup on an iPhone 7-esque rear with what appears to be a flash just off to the right. The resolution is unclear, but it will likely be 12 megapixels for the primary camera and 8 for the front snapper.
OnePlus hinted on its Twitter page that the handset would be available in four colors: black, red, gold and a green/blue/purple gradient that the company later referred to as “unicorn.”

How much will it cost?
Another gray area here is the OnePlus 5 price. Rumors have it that the price will be higher than the $439 you pay for OnePlus 3T today. However, it’s unclear what kind of price hike you could expect, if there’s really any. Separate reports estimate it could reach as much as $650. The price hike reportedly comes as the result of the costs involved with the “components and design” of the device.
