OnePlus 5 rumored for June launch

OnePlus is slowly becoming a household name not only in Asia, but also in Europe and some parts of America. The company has released a number of middle successful mobile devices over the years. Now, the company is once again on the verge of releasing another one of its flagship killers. Rumor has it that the upcoming OnePlus 5 is due to be launched very soon.

According to a post on the Chinese micro-blogging site, Weibo, there is a chance that the phone might be unveiled before the end of June. Furthermore, the leak also disputed earlier claims that the display of the OnePlus 5 is a 2K OLED panel. Instead, the display in question will only have a full HD resolution. It also claims that the decision to go for a smaller resolution display is to improve the phone’s battery life.

After this leak, yet another one cropped up on the same micro-blogging site. However, this time around, the leak suggested that the rear camera arrangement of the OnePlus 5 will be horizontal rather than vertical.

Unfortunately, there are no ways of making sure these rumours are, in fact, correct. The sources did not provide any solid evidence on their pronouncements. That is why readers and fans of the brand are urged to take these rumors with a grain of salt.

Prior to this, there have been talks that the OnePlus 5 will sport a Snapdragon 835 SoC. Furthermore, there are claims that the minimum memory for the phone will be 6GB that will be paired with a 128GB flash storage. On top of this, there were also news that OnePlus is considering an 8GB version of the phone. However, as previously stated, there is no concrete evidence to support these claims.

If OnePlus indeed unveils its newest phone by June, it will benefit from the market’s sudden requirement for a Snapdragon 835-powered mobile device. It will, once again, be in direct competition with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+. However, since this is OnePlus we are talking about, consumers can expect the phone to be a lot cheaper than a flagship phone in the likes of Samsung.
