Good news for OnePlus fans out there. It seems like the Chinese phone maker is now ready to release a new phone model soon. Rumor has it that the new OnePlus 3T, formerly known as OnePlus 3P, will be released this month.
According to recent reports, the much-awaited phone update will be unveiled this Nov. 14 in London, UK.
The new smartphone will feature a few important updates from its base model, the OnePlus 3. One of the most important updates to it is the use of the newest Snapdragon 821 SoC processor from Qualcomm. OnePlus also updated the battery from 3000mAh to 3300mAh. In addition to this, the new phone is also rumored to support 4G voice-over-LTE.
Another change is the jump to the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. According to earlier reports, the OnePlus 3T will come with the Android Nougat out-of-the-box.
There is a very strong chance that the new smartphone will still come with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display. This is in line with the company?s earlier announcement that it will stick to the same display technology amidst rumors of switching to LCD.
A few months back, some of its earlier phones experienced delays due to component availability, particularly on the display. This prompted a story that the company will switch to LCD display technology instead.
The OnePlus 3T will share some of the great features of the older OnePlus 3 smartphone. The new phone will have the same 6GB LPDDR4 RAM, 64GB storage, and a 16-megapixel rear camera. Other hardware like fingerprint sensor, 8-megapixel front camera, and USB Type-C are to remain as they are. Even the Dash charge feature is making a comeback on the new phone.
Release date and pricing
The OnePlus 3 smartphone was released at $400 a pop. Rumor has it that the new OnePlus 3T will retail at $480. As mentioned earlier, the grand unveiling will happen in London on Nov. 14.
