Fans of One Punch Man have been waiting for the second season of the anime series for quite some time now, and previous reports have stated that it may not air this year. However, a more recent post suggests that the second installment is going to be released this October and it will feature three major villains.
Contrary to previous speculations that One Punch Man Season 2 is going to be launched early in 2017 due to a delay in production, a recent report by Hall of Fame Magazine stated that creator Yusuke Murata has doubled his efforts in finishing the second installment. According to the outlet, the creator increased his pace in drawing so the next season will be available later this year.
Furthermore, Ecumenical News gave a more specific date of release for the installment as it revealed that One Punch Man Season 2 may be released this October, earlier than previous predictions of a December or early 2017 release.
For those who are wondering the basis for this prediction, it is the Anime Expo to be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from July 1 to 4. According to the official website of the event, One Punch Man is going to participate with animation director Shingo Natsume and voice actor Makoto Furukawa (Saitama) to appear in a talk show.
The show will start at 3:30 p.m. and will end at 5:30 p.m. The two are expected to talk about the One Punch Man Season 2 as well as its release, now said to be happening in October. Aside from talking about the release of the installment, the first English dubbed episode of the anime series is also going to be launched during the expo.
Meanwhile, talks about the major villains to appear in One Punch Man Season 2 have circulated on the web for quite some time now, and the first major foe is believed to be Garou, the strongest villain to appear in the franchise. However, according to Parent Herald, main protagonist Saitama is also going to face Amai Mask and Lord Boros in the second installment of the anime series.
It can be recalled that Lord Boros already conceded to Saitama in the first season, but he is expected to return to avenge his defeat in the upcoming season. While for Amai Mask, he is expected to also make his revenge against the Heroes Association that will eventually lead to the showdown between him and Saitama.
