Fans across the globe certainly want a reunion concert from the boy band One Direction after several members left the group. However, with the latest statement of X-Factor judge Simon Cowell and the departure of Liam Payne, it seems like the get-together of original members would stay doubtful for the rest of the year.
During the past months, Cowell had expressed his support to the boy band despite all the controversies they got involved in. He even told several media outlets in a recent press conference that they still have a communication will all of the members. However, what he mentioned next came as a surprise for the attendees. He said, ?The great thing about these boys?well, not all of them, but most of them?they are incredibly loyal and you don?t always expect that.?
That statement would be controversial as it is but the following sentence would even spark more issue. ?Niall, Harry, Louis? amazing,? Cowell added. The questions is, did he intentionally not mention Liam Payne and Zayn Malik? Or, it was just an accident? Knowing the X-Factor judge, that surely was intentional.
It can be recalled that Zayn was the first one to leave the group to be a solo artist, who also seemed to have cut his ties with One Direction. Harry Styles then also had some time alone appearing in the World War II film, Dunkirk, and reportedly signing an $80 million solo deal with Columbia records last month. The latest member to leave is Liam, who confirmed on Tuesday that he has signed a deal with Capitol Records UK.
As Liam goes solo, fans start to think that may be the band is already done. However, for the optimistic ones, they believed that the members are just doing their ?own thing? and being on a ?break? does not necessarily mean that they are over. Also, a representative of the group shared that the hiatus is just for the meantime.
The remaining members, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson, have yet to release their official statements about the issue. But clearly, the recent happenings suggest that the reunion of One Direction is not going to happen anytime soon. Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
