After Copa America and Euro 2016, football fans across the world have yet another international tournament to look forward to–the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The football tournament of the Olympics will get underway in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday, two days before the grand opening ceremony. There will be 16 teams in the men?s competition and 12 teams in the women?s tournament for a total of 58 matches.

The soccer tournament kicks off with the first four group stages of the women?s tournament taking place on Wednesday. Team USA, the current FIFA Women?s World Cup title holders, is the favorite to become the first country to hold the world and Olympic titles in consecutive years, while the European trio of France, Germany and Sweden are also considered as strong contenders.
