The Offspring Season 6 premieres June 29 and will bring along just as many big family secrets and tragedies as the previous seasons. Fans will see Asher Keddie once again return as the unlucky in love medico Dr. Nina Proudman for Season 6 of Channel Ten?s much-loved drama series.
Offspring Season 6 begins with complications for the Proudman family right away in the first episode as tragedy strikes within minutes which the promo of the new season had promised. The promo had earlier informed us that the family will be rocked by a huge event ?that will see the Proudman clan tested as never before.?
While we don?t know for sure what it is, there is definitely going to be something so big it will be a make-or-break situation for them. It could be the death of another major character but we will have to wait and find out when the show finally premieres.
In addition, there is also going to be a reveal of a big family secret when the show premieres. According to Daily Review, at the end of the first episode of Channel Ten?s Offspring, Nina?s sister Billie (Kat Stewart) says to her little brother Jimmy (Richard Davies), ?I thought we?d already had all our big family secrets.?
It is going to be pretty intense for fans who might be thinking of further revelations that could be coming to the Proudman family after five seasons of secret affairs, paternity scandals, family dysfunction and tragedy.
Offspring Season 6 will pick up 18 months from where we left the Proudman family. In Season 5, Nina returned to work at the St. Francis Hospital, juggling motherhood and a budding romance with midwife Leo Taylor (Patrick Brammall). Zoe is now two-and-a-half years old and as the synopsis of the new season hints, Nina will now be in a relationship with Leo. Her sister Billie, meanwhile, has been managing husband Mick?s (Eddie Perfect) tour in the UK and youngest sibling Jimmy runs his busy Mexican taqueria while his wife Zara (Jane Harber) studies for a medical degree.
Creator Debra Oswald hasn?t returned to the series but Jonathan Gavin, who has written many episodes for the show since the first season, has stepped into her shoes as head writer. Along with Keddie, several original cast members Stewart, Lachy Hulme, Brammall, Deborah Mailman and Perfect all return. Among the new faces are TJ Power, who plays lawyer Will Bowen, Dan Wyllie as the director of Clinical Education and Lawrence Leung as an obstetrician.
Offspring Season 6 premieres 8:30 p.m., Wednesday June 29 on Channel Ten.
