For months now, fans of the Nokia brand is expecting the company to have a premium flagship phone anytime this year. At first, it was said to be the Nokia 8, an Android phone with Snapdragon 835 and other good hardware packed within. Now, a new report claims that there is a new flagship coming from Nokia later this year. According to the said source, the Nokia 9 will have the best hardware that will put even the Galaxy S8 to shame.
According to the Chinese site CN Beta, the Nokia 9 will have a Snapdragon 835 powering all its internals. The ARM chip will be paired with 6GB of RAM and either 64 or 128GB of flash storage. In addition to these, the main selling point of the new phone is its superb front and rear camera sensors. The front-facing one is said to be a 12-megapixel imaging sensor while the rear one is a 22-megapixel dual Carl Zeiss lens setup.
While these specs may sound absolutely impressive, Nokia is not done yet. The rumored flagship phone will also include a fingerprint scanner, iris scanner, a 3,800mAh lithium-ion battery with Quick Charge 4.0, and OZO Audio to name a few. The phone will also be waterproof, dustproof, and will be running the latest Android Nougat OS.
For those who are unaware, OZO Audio is Nokia’s very own high-end audio technology. It offers superb 3D audio capture and playback for the best surround sound experience.
The listed specs for the Nokia 9 are indeed impressive to anyone’s standard. However, as with any other rumors, this one should be taken with a grain of salt too. Nokia has not released a statement regarding the rumor and consumers can expect that this will be the case for quite some time.
At the moment, Nokia is putting much of its effort at getting the newest line of Android phones out in the market. Whether a new flagship is coming soon or not, only Nokia can tell. For more updates on the Nokia 9, be sure to check us out at TheBitbag.
