No Man’s Sky: Will It Support PlayStation VR?

No Man's Sky is not an indie game

Will No Man?s Sky support the PlayStation VR headset? Sony finally revealed the price and release date of their highly anticipated virtual device earlier this week during the Game Developer?s Conference in San Francisco, but it didn?t reveal all the games we can expect at launch.

Will No Man’s Sky Come To PlayStation VR?

Hello Games? highly anticipated space explorer, which finally launches on June 21, seems like the perfect killer app for the PlayStation VR. The thought of soaring through the game?s infinite procedurally generated planets in virtual reality seems like a mind-blowing, system-selling experience. But so far, nothing has been confirmed from either camp. However, company founder Sean Murray admitted in the past that his game is a perfect match for the device.

“I think that No Man’s Sky, which is this infinite computer generated universe, and PlayStation VR, which is a headset that you put on and enter a VR space is like, it’s like you’ve asked me when I was five what the future would look like,” said Murray during an interview with GameSpot earlier this month.

Murray also brought up VR in the August 2015 issue of Edge, saying that he and his team were actively exploring bringing the game not just to PS VR but the Oculus Rift as well.

“It’s something we’re thinking about. Morpheus, Oculus… There’s nothing more cool and sci-fi than VR and a big procedural universe. I think that, for the people who want to just explore, and even for the space combat and things like that, it would be a good fit. Let’s put it that way,” he said.

The Oculus Rift comes out later this month while the PlayStation VR drops sometime in October. Because of this, we expect that we won?t hear anything concrete regarding a VR version of No Man?s Sky until then.
