?No Man’s Sky? PC: Unlock Time, No Pre-Load, and Other Things You Need to Know

By on

For much of the week, PlayStation 4 players have not been sleeping, been slacking off their jobs and have been hurrying home from school or from work just to get lost in galaxies. No Man?s Sky PC fans though are still waiting for the gaming to grace their hard drives. The master race is waiting.

So, when will it be out on PC? It will be on August 12 at 1 p.m. ET. Also, there will be no pre-loading available. This is when you will be downloading and maybe doing some patching after that as pointed out by Brian Crecente of Polygon.

If you haven’t pre-ordered the game yet, it is available over at Steam, GOG and on Humble Store. It is also available over at iam8bit where you could get one of the remaining limited edition toy-style replica of the ship. Also, you could get your copy directly over at Hello Games. Take note though that buying from Hello Games directly would help the developers more as they will update the game for free. Click here for the details of how this might be.

Things You Need To Know

Like mentioned, you might need to get your Day Zero patch much like those who got their copies for the PlayStation 4. This patch will give you access to the added features in the game. It is also good to note that if you do not patch it, you will miss out on the official release version of the game. You?d have smaller galaxies and less diverse fauna and ships. So, when the unlock time comes, check for news about the patch. We will get to it as soon as we can.

Another thing that you need to know if you pre-ordered the game is that there was a ?bug? that was detected. Hello Games have been contacted about this as this bug leaves players stuck in one star system without a chance to jump out of it to further explore–one of the pillars of the game. This bug happens when one skips the hyperdrive tutorial (getting the hyperdrive blueprint enabling one to build one) when one avails of the free spruced-up ship with hyperdrive and one additional slot included.
