After releasing the PS4 version successfully, the PC/Steam version of No Man’s Sky was heavily-anticipated. However, after the August 12 release, it became crystal clear that this version has many critical bugs. Starting with severe technical issues to crashes, followed by low frame rates, you name it?this game brought it all together.
But the silver lining is that the folks at Hello Games were quick to respond and jotted down a slew of workarounds for the widespread standard issues. After which, they?rolled out an experimental No Man’s Sky PC patch to fix other issues. As the name implies, it?s just an experimental update, and not a full and final solution. Nevertheless, it fixes some of the critical issues of the game.
The Hello Games team has shared the No Man’s Sky patch notes, along with the required instructions to get started on the patch. Also, the official version of the patch will reportedly be rolled out “early” this week,?Mashable noted.
However, if you are not patient enough to wait for the ultimate fix, you can install the experimental patch. ?Not to worry because you can always rollback in case the patch doesn?t fix the issues.
No Man’s Sky players can install the patch by navigating to the Steam Library tab, find the game and right-click on it to get a drop-down menu. Select “Properties” from the menu, following which a window will pop up, and here you can click on the “Betas” tab.
Now, type down “3xperimental” in the given text field and hit the “Check code” button. At this point, a message should pop up stating that the game’s experimental patch is available. Following which, you can go to the pull-down menu in the Betas tab and select “experimental – Experimental.” Voila, the gaming app will be updated automatically.
This experimental No Man’s Sky update helps improve the game’s performance, thanks to the changes made to AMD CPUs. It also fixes the problems pertaining to Alt-Tabbing in and out of the game.
Furthermore, the issue with regards to visual snags has been addressed. Mouse movement has also been smoothed out.
