Users no longer need to have a Facebook account if they need to send an important message via FB messenger. This is according to the famous social media platform?s newsroom.
By downloading the FB messenger app, users can already enjoy all the features that are available on Messenger ? including photos, videos, group chats, voice and video calling, stickers and more. And all you need is a phone number.
Here?s how?to use it:
On the Messenger welcome screen, you will now see an option that says ?Not on Facebook??
From there, you can sign up with your name, phone number and a photo.
Of course, your FB messenger will be able to rely and reach only friends who are in your phone?s database. You might also have trouble reaching friends who also don?t have their own FB account.
This move is seen as Facebook?s aggressive bid to make FB messenger a stand-alone product. Facebook is considered one of the most successful social media platform, and it definitely has the power to connect individuals from different walks of life.
Facebook Messenger has been known as a very unpopular tool when it went full-blast last year. It was also met by much resistance from FB users, as people had to download the application and use it separately from the main FB app.
But in time, users have learned to accept the messaging platform, and today, almost a billion downloads have already been recorded by Facebook.
This is not available in all countries however. Only Canada, the United States, Peru or Venezuela will be able to enjoy this feature.
A for those who have Facebook accounts, there are many benefits in using their individual Facebook credentials when signing up for Messenger. People can easily message with their Facebook friends and contacts, access their Facebook messages and take advantage of multi-device messaging across mobile devices, the web and tablets.
