The world got a glimpse of Nintendo Switch and the anticipated Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild over at a very unlikely place. Reggie Fils-Amie and Shigeru Miyamoto debuted the console and the game at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. It is the first time we got a look at the next Zelda game running on Nintendo?s upcoming console in real-time and there is quite a few things we know from the reveal.
Although Nintendo is yet to confirm if there will be differences between the Wii U and Nintendo Switch versions of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, we might?ve seen how well Nintendo?s next console runs the game. With the Switch definitely being a more powerful console, it wouldn?t be a surprise to see some gameplay differences.
Based on the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild gameplay we?ve seen at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the game runs smoother and with a better framerate than it?s Wii U counterpart. The beautiful game looks even better now thanks to the enhancements of Nintendo? next console.
Aside from a better framerate, we can see that the Switch version gives players a better draw distance. This means players can?see far away places in?Hyrule while still looking detailed as compared to the Wii U version.
Gameplay-wise, we?ve yet to see a side-by-side comparison on how?Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild plays when on the Wii U and on the Switch. However, since the Switch allows players to play a game in a couple of ways, there might be quite a few gameplay differences.
As for the console, this is the first time we?ve seen the Switch outside of the trailer revealed last month. The console itself looks pretty sleek. It looks like Nintendo is going to do better with the next console compared to the Wii U. However, it?s still too early to say if the next console will do better than the Wii.
