Nintendo Switch facing shortage of game titles

At the moment, the Nintendo Switch is considered the fastest selling gaming console in the market. To date, Nintendo has sold nearly three million Nintendo Switch consoles. While the company is still enjoying massive sales from the console, some market watchers are weary that this soon shall fade, just like it did on the Wii-U. Because of this, it is more important than ever for Nintendo to release more titles for the gaming console.

According to Asia Nikkei, the gaming company has already asked its game developers to introduce major game releases as early as possible. Perhaps Nintendo is now well aware that the Switch has been out for more than two months and yet most of its exclusive titles are still yet to be released.

So far, only a few titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe have been released for the console. Nintendo Switch gamers will soon need more title to sink their teeth in within the coming months.

The Nintendo Switch’s success is somewhat unprecedented. The nearly three million units sold was achieved by a combination of bold features and exciting game titles released with the console. However, as with any new piece of gadgetry in the market, this interest for the Switch will soon fade if Nintendo is not able to keep a steady stream of new content and games for the console.

For next month, around seven titles are lined up to be released for the Nintendo Switch. Although the list is growing every day, a slow trickle of releases is probably not enough to sustain the interests of gamers for the console. Nintendo needs to do more, develop more, and release more games for the hybrid console. If it fails to do this, it risks losing many of longstanding customers as other brands like the PlayStation 4 offers more exclusive games under its belt.
