Nintendo Is Releasing A Miniature NES And It?s Everything that a ?90s Kid Would Love

By on

Nintendo?s first video gaming console, NES (Nintendo Entertainment System), is set to make a big comeback in the holidays.

Although smaller in size compared with the original version, this video game console, which will be called NES Classic Edition, is designed to do two things: let those who grew up in the ?90s relive their youth and let the young gamers experience what gaming was like in the time when gadgets like the iPhone, Playstation, and X-Box have not been invented yet.

Unlike its original version released in 1985, the 2016 NES Classic Edition uses an HDMI cable that can be plugged directly into your TV set.

In a statement, president and chief operating officer of Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aime said: “We wanted to give fans of all ages the opportunity to revisit Nintendo?s original system and rediscover why they fell in love with Nintendo in the first place.?

Saving your game?s progress in NES should not be a cause for worry. According to PCWorld, ?In another nod to the modern world, the mini NES won?t force you to pause your game overnight to keep from losing your progress. Each game has built-in suspend points that let you shut down for the night, and come back to the same point in the game the next day.?

The NES Classic Edition will sell for $59.99. Gamers might have to shell out extra for the controllers, though. According to USAToday: ?Classic controllers will be sold separately for $9.99 each. Owners of the Classic Controller or Classic Controller Pro for Nintendo’s Wii and Wii U will also work with the mini NES.?
