Nintendo?s new console, the NX, might be coming out later this year. The only thing known about it so far is that it might be a mix between a console and a handheld. There are no confirmed Nintendo NX games so far, though there are a few clues that hint for their potential launch on Nintendo?s next console.
First is the highly anticipated The Legend of Zelda Wii U. There?s a good chance that this game will be simultaneously released for both the Wii U and NX, taking cues from Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess when it came out on the Wii and Gamecube.
Game Rant has also reported that the recent Super Smash Bros could also be re-released on the NX. While some might wonder why customers would bother with the NX version of the game, since it?s available on Wii U and 3DS, Nintendo could re-release it with all the DLC characters like Cloud and Ryu.
A new Metroid game would also help the system have a successful launch. Fans were angered by the new multiplayer-focused Metroid Prime: Federation Force for the 3DS. Having a new single-player Metroid game featuring the return of Samus Aran might win back the fans.
Nintendo should also work with more third-party developers if they want the NX to succeed. While the company has made a ton of quality titles, the lack of exciting and exclusive games is what almost killed the Wii U before Splatoon and Super Mario Maker seemingly saved it from extinction.
Fans are hoping that the Nintendo NX games that are lined up for launch will be quality titles. If it supports backwards compatibility, then it should be able to play some of the more recent Wii U games announced for the system like Pokken Tournament and the new Paper Mario game.
