By on

Electronic Arts has released the first screenshot of their upcoming hockey game, NHL 15. Together with the screenshot is information about the preorder offers that North American and Canadian retailers will be having.

The screenshot comes from the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 version of the game and features San Jose Sharks center Joe Thornton together with defenseman Scott Hannan further in the background. EA announced NHL 15 last month and one of the first details that they mentioned for the game was that it would get visual improvements in different aspects of the game like in player faces, jerseys, equipment, and a larger variety with regards to crowd models. Looking at the image, it seems like EA is holding true to their word as you can see nice details on it.

If you look at EA?s NHL page, you?ll see that their preorder bonus for NHL 15 consists of a number of Gold packs for the game?s Hockey Ultimate Team mode. Once the game is launched, one pack is released every week moving forward for 15 weeks. For North American customers, preorders can be made at Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. For Canada customers, it will be at Best Buy and Future Shop. Customers who preorder will receive a total of 15 Gold packs over the course of 15 weeks which in total is $15 worth of bonus content. Some retailers are pushing it even more with GameStop in the US and EB Games in Canada bumping up their offer to 24 Gold packs over the span of 24 weeks.

EA also held a cover vote contest to help determine who will be gracing the game?s cover. The voting has already concluded and the players in the final round are Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron against Montreal Canadians defenseman P.K. Subban. The winner will be announced on June 24 at the NHL Awards.

NHL 15 is currently in development at EA Canada for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and the Xbox One. The game is set to be made available this coming fall. There should also be updates for the game during the E3 event.
