Every year Google releases a new Nexus device to showcase its latest operating system. The company is reportedly working on the new Nexus devices that will be launched with pre-installed Android Nougat. Nexus 7 is among those rumored devices. Here are the details about the Nexus 7 2016 release and specs.

Nexus 7 2016 is supposed to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or Nvidia Tegra X1 processor chipset accompanied by 4GB RAM. The device will support up to 2TB external memory support. Nexus 7 2016 will be fitted with 7-inch display with Quad HD resolution. As aforementioned, they will roll out with preinstalled Android Nougat.


There are not much details about the price of Nexus 7 2016. According to PCAdvisor, Google could launch the device with ?199 that is around $260. This is the expected price for UK market, the price could be different for different territories.

Google has recently rolled out the fifth and the final preview of Android Nougat to its developer. Which means the new operating could be released soon. Several reports claim that Google in working on a new tablet, Nexus 7. Nexus 7 2016 release could happen in August along with Android Nougat.

Moreover, Google has recently stopped the sales of the Nexus 9 tablet. This is also an indication towards the launch of new tablet.

Apart from Google Nexus 2016, HTC is reportedly working on two new mobile phones for Google. The devices are codenamed Marlin or M1 and Sailfish or S1. Google is expected to launch these devices at the same time.

Marlin will be a high-end smartphone with the topmost hardware configurations while Sailfish will be a mid range device. Both of these device will share some common features like camera, RAM and onboard storage. The main difference will be processor and display.
