The Nexus 6p is one of the best smartphones released in 2015. Despite it being already over a year since its release, the Nexus 6p is still one of the best phones around. Many owners of the Huawei-manufactured phone are just waiting for updates to make sure that their units have the latest version of the Android OS. Unfortunately, the Android 7.0 Nougat update has caused a battery issue for the phone, which is why many are waiting for a Nexus 6p patch to fix the problem.
Android 7.0 Nougat has been highly anticipated by Android smartphone users. Its roll-out to the various Android devices are always being monitored as installing the new Android OS is always exciting. Sadly, the update has not been a pleasant one for Nexus 6p owners as updating to Android Nougat has caused battery issues for the smartphone.
Nexus 6p Battery Issue
According to PC World, several Nexus 6p owners are complaining that there is a serious drop-off in battery life after updating to Android Nougat. A user shared that his Nexus 6p would be at 15% battery then all of a sudden it goes to 0% without warning.
This is not the worst case scenario though as some have complained of the Nexus 6p shutting down even if there is more than 50% battery remaining. The battery issue is certainly a very serious one. Right now, Google and Huawei are still figuring out what is causing the problem.
The same PC World report indicated that Google has said that 7.1.1 Android OS update has fixed the issue. Unfortunately, there is still no evidence that the update has indeed solved the battery problem.
Nexus 6p Patch for the Battery Issue
For now, users should wait for a Nexus 6p update?for the battery issue which could be released soon. Surely, Google and Huawei will be extra cautious, especially in the aftermath of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery scandal.
